I read about the first hundred pages and completely lost interest.

In fact this is the only one of her books that I didn’t finish. Before starting it I had been a little wary of it, set in a grammar school for boys, I thought I was stepping into Brideshead Revisited(UK TV series from the 80’s)! Don’t be fooled though, this book is a real thriller that leaves you holding your breath until the end.įor me, the worst book by Joanne Harris has to be Holy Fools. I was completely engrossed in this book from the first page until the last which was quite surprising as it really wasn’t the type of book I would normally have read. It was about three years ago that I read it now and yet still I am blown away by the huge twist in the story at the end. To write about the best book Joanne Harris has written was really easy. Gentlemen and Players stands out more than any other. However there are some books that I like more than others, so I just had to put on my big girl pants and admit the truth. This is a really hard post for me to write, as I am never really negative about any book especially when it comes to ones by one of my favourite authors Joanne Harris to me she is one of the most diverse and entertaining writers I have ever read.

I have read her blog avidly since I first started my own blog in 2009 and I still visit as often as I can now. Please welcome today’s guest blogger: Vivienne from Serendipity Reviews, who will be discussing the best and worst of Joanne Harris.įirstly I must give a huge thanks to Alyce for providing me with the opportunity to write for her blog. Visit the series page for more information about the guest bloggers, the featured authors, and the sign-up form. Each Wednesday I am featuring a guest post by a book blogger detailing which books they think are the “best” and “worst” by the author of their choice.
